CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Hello everyone! today I am going to tell you about my university career, I study Visual Arts at the University of Chile, within the career there are several paths to take, basically each one forms his career, this because there is a wide variety of workshops, of which you must choose only one or go changing semester to semester.

Every semester I have to take a central workshop, a complementary workshop, two theoretical branches, a general training course and the English branch, before I also had to take drawing but that is only until the third semester.

The workload in the practical workshops depends on the course you choose, I have taken this year courses related to engraving and I have allocated more than 70% of my university time to my workshops, unlike the theoretical ones to which I have not allocated so much time.

My career lasts 5 years counting the year of the thesis, but I did a specific bachelor's degree in arts that lasted 2 years, so in total for me it will be 7 years of career.

The Faculty of Arts is divided into 3 buildings, which are far from each other, Visual Arts and Art Theory share the same building, in which in more than half of the building are located the practical workshops, the infrastructure in general is quite precarious but spacious.

As for the use of technology, it is something relative, there are those who do digital drawing and it is also a branch that is taught, but besides that the most technological would be the devices such as drills, light tables and various tools that depend on the use of electricity as such hahaha.

The teaching methods also change a lot from teacher to teacher, most of them start from the more technical and formal to the more experimental, depending on what the student is looking to solve and the interests of the teacher.

Arts is a very unusual career in terms of what is customary in traditional careers and for this reason I like it very much.

Thanks for reading!
